During my breast cancer treatment I wrote poetry on a daily basis and did hand lettering and block printing. I gave the hand lettered drawings (as this one created from a line by Emily Dickinson) to friends and family who helped with running errands for me, driving me to chemo, making meals, and doing other acts of kindness. My daughter loved looking at my hand lettering and reading my poems. After my diagnosis, I started a nonprofit organization, Well Beings Studio (www.wellbeings.studio) for people who are affected by cancer.
